How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.

"It's coming alive" Bajram Begaj calls for calm: My office

President Bajram Begaj has reacted to the protest being held in Tirana.

Begaj calls on all parties to act with responsibility and restraint.

According to Begaj, the right to peaceful protest is a foundation of democracy and the state's obligation to guarantee it, but violence cannot be a means of expressing dissatisfaction, nor should the use of force by the police go beyond the limits of the law and proportionality.

"The President of the Republic is following with concern the escalation of tensions during the protests and calls on all parties to act with responsibility and restraint.

The right to peaceful protest is a foundation of democracy and the state's obligation to guarantee it. But violence cannot be a means of expressing dissatisfaction, nor should the use of force by the police exceed the limits of the law and proportionality.

At this moment, the country needs more responsibility. The Constitution and the law must remain the boundary of all, without exception.

I remain ready to listen to all concerns.

"My office is and will remain open to every young person and every citizen who wants to express themselves, dialogue and contribute for the good of the country," writes Begaj.

Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.
