Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.

Ervin Demo, the face of violence, the teacher who today bled students as Minister of Interior

Ervin Demo, the face of violence, the teacher who today bled students as

Ervin Demos' first "success" after being promoted to Minister of Internal Affairs is the barbaric violence that the State Police exercised today against students in Tirana.

Just like the militia of any regime, not a country aspiring to be in the EU, the police beat and dragged away young men and women and citizens who came before them.

The irony of fate also lies in the fact that the police violence this time comes from a Minister of Internal Affairs, who was himself a former lecturer.

Even the vice-rector of the University of Tirana and then catapulted into politics as deputy minister of education. Ervin Demo is today the face of police violence against students who demand better conditions and an Albania where they can have a future, not from where they are forced to emigrate.

Demo was promoted to the Ministry of Interior not only to prepare the ground for the electoral massacre expected in Tirana in the local elections, where, as rumored, he could be the Socialist candidate, but also to violently suppress the protest of the Flamingos and now the students.

And apparently, the former lecturer, now Minister of the Interior, achieved his first "success"; he killed the youth of a country that is increasingly empty of young people. What a disgrace! ©LAPSI.al

Edi Rama's intrigue between the US and the EU / Are American soldiers still protected in Albania?

At the height of the Trump administration's clash with the International Criminal Court, the Albanian government has quietly abrogated the agreement that protected American servicemen from extradition to The Hague. But an unusual maneuver with the publication of the law in the Official Gazette raises suspicions that Edi Rama is trying to please Brussels without angering Washington.
