Yamal breaks Haaland, Messi and Mbappé's record with 50th goal:

Lamine Yamal spectacularly scored his 50th goal for Barcelona as the teenager helped the Catalan giants beat Rayo Vallecano 5-2 in La Liga. The historic strike also made him the youngest player to reach 50 goals in Europe's top five leagues, surpassing Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland. Raphinha also scored twice as Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 season.

Lamine Yamal reached another incredible milestone for Barcelona on Monday, scoring his 50th goal for the Catalan giants in spectacular fashion against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga. The teenager produced a stunning left-footed strike into the top corner to give Barcelona a 2-1 lead and take his tally to 50 goals for the club. The goal also saw Yamal write his name into the history of European football. At just 19 years and 49 days old, he became the youngest player to score 50 goals in Europe's top five leagues.

Lamine Yamal reaches 50 goals for Barcelona

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal wrote his name into the history books against Rayo Vallecano, scoring his 50th goal for the Catalan club with a spectacular strike in the 21st minute. The 19-year-old produced a stunning left-footed strike into the top corner to give Barcelona a 2-1 lead after Raphinha had equalised after Rayo's early goal.

The historic goal also made Yamal the youngest player to reach 50 goals in Europe's top five leagues, surpassing the previous records set by Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland. Barcelona's official "X" account wrote: "Lamine Yamal has become the youngest player in the history of Europe's top five leagues to reach 50 goals, surpassing the figures of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé." According to Opta, Yamal is the youngest player from any club in Europe's top leagues to reach this milestone, at least since the 2014/15 season.

Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 La Liga season with a 5-2 win over Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou. Rayo surprised the home side in the 12th minute when Sergio Camello finished off a pass from Alvaro Garcia, but Barcelona quickly turned the game around. Raphinha equalised in the 19th minute with a low shot, before Lamine Yamal struck a powerful shot from the edge of the area two minutes later. Jules Kounde thought he had scored a third before half-time, but VAR ruled out the goal for offside.

Barcelona restored their two-goal lead six minutes into the second half when Rayo defender Florian Lejeune inadvertently deflected a ball from Anthony Gordon into his own net. Camello scored again for Rayo in the 59th minute with a header from a corner, but Barcelona remained in control of the match. Raphinha scored again in the 71st minute, after a clever backheel pass from Gordon created the opportunity, giving Flick's side a 4-2 lead.

Yamal sealed the result in the 90th minute, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner to complete his brace and Barcelona's third consecutive league win. The result leaves Barcelona top of the table with nine points, while Rayo remain in 19th place with just one point. The match also marked the debut in an official match for young Egyptian Hamza Abdelkarim, who was rewarded for his impressive performances during the pre-season.

How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.

Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.
