"Arrest him, but don't shoot him in the head" Protesters' parents denounce police violence

Parents of students detained during protests in Tirana denounce police violence and arrests they consider unjust. Amidst anxiety for the fate of their children and disappointment with institutions, they recount economic difficulties, lack of prospects and the fear that the young people who took to the streets to seek a better future in Albania will end up leaving it.

Berisha accuses the Socialists in the Parliament: You have become soldiers of

From the Parliament podium, DP leader Sali Berisha demanded the immediate release of the detained protesters and the punishment of those who used violence against them.

Focusing on the audiotaped recording published by Arben Ahmetaj, Berisha said that the majority MPs have become soldiers of Padron and Yeffet, "you are giving money to Edi Rama's company."

Part of Berisha's speech

I demand the immediate release of the detained protesters and the punishment of those who used violence against them.

You seek to survive with police violence, but you have become the most hated figures in the history of the Albanian nation.

You think you're calm, I'm telling you, your godfather is dragged every day on the boulevards and streets of Tirana by those protesters.

And give up defending him.

Give up defending him like rats and you will be taken to his sinking ship every day.

The scandal involving Rama, Lubia, Nufi is unimaginable...

Do you understand what you are doing to Albanians or not?

Give the money to Edi Rama's company.

He buys vehicles, where he buys them and where he doesn't buy them, and the state buys those vehicles with our money.

Is there an act more ugly than this?

Is there any more blatant theft than this?

Do you have the slightest human interest or are you soldiers of Yeffet and the Godfather?

How can you remain silent in the face of this fact?

You legitimized smuggling and they do the dirty work of the mastermind.

If the government orders dirty work, the boss is the one who orders the work, and that's the prime minister.

How is it possible for you to follow this?

How is that possible?

How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.

Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.
