Prime Minister Edi Rama and Interior Minister Ervin Demo are holding a meeting with State Police leaders and officers, following the tensions of the previous day. In his speech, Demo focused on the events near Police Station No. 3, stating that the attack on the building and police officers had crossed, according to him, the "red line".

"Commissariat No. 3 was attacked by protesters. The building and the employees who were protecting it were damaged," the minister said.

Demo stated that the level of violence recorded, according to him, had exceeded the limits of a normal protest. He also claimed that people involved in the clashes had found shelter in the headquarters of a political entity, which according to him also indicates their motivation.

"Violence has no place in a democratic society. The government and the prime minister have made it clear that we are ready for dialogue, but violence cannot be accepted," Demo declared.

How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.

Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.
