"Balluku" file/ Igli Tare leaves SPAK after 3 hours

Igli Tare has appeared again at SPAK, where he stayed for about three hours, as part of the investigations related to the file of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. The former footballer is being investigated for money laundering, due to a villa in Dhërmi that, according to SPAK, was fictitiously registered in his name to hide the real owner.

It concerns a 103 square meter villa in the “White Rocks” residence, on the Ionian coast, which has already been placed under seizure by order of SPAK. The prosecutors suspect that the property actually belonged to Balluk and that it was obtained as a bribe in exchange for two tenders worth over 1 million euros, held during the period when she headed “Albcontrol”.

According to SPAK, the tenders for the reconstruction of the "Albcontrol" building were given to the construction company "Eurocol" in violation of the law, while in return Balluku is suspected of receiving the villa in Dhërmi. For this episode, the former deputy prime minister has been charged with corruption, while in addition to Igli Tare, businessman Pandeli Carapuli is also being investigated for money laundering, who is suspected of being the person who gave the villa as a bribe.

To hide Balluk's connection to the property, according to prosecutors, a scheme was used involving Igli Tare and Joana Bushi, at the time Balluk's subordinate at "Albcontrol" and her chief of staff.

SPAK claims that Tare became the fictitious owner of the villa through a contract signed on December 5, 2018. Subsequently, the property turned out to be rented to Joana Bush, while according to the investigation, the person who actually used the villa was Belinda Balluku.

How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.
