DP leader Sali Berisha was not present at the inauguration ceremony of the new US ambassador in Tirana. He most likely would not have been invited, just as many other politicians in the country were not.
But he held a meeting in Korca this afternoon for what he calls the renewal of the Democratic Party.
In his speech, Berisha stated that a renewed Albania requires only a renewed DP.
"This battle of ours is to renew Albania. No one has to vote for us for what we have done or for our resistance, everyone will appreciate us with the renewal that we will present to them, with the values with which we will appear before them, with the young people that we will attract to our ranks, with the ladies and gentlemen who today are the absolute majority of the nation in Albania due to certain circumstances. If the Assembly and other forums expressed this motive with loyalty to you by vote, now it is up to all of us to express it in every effort of ours in the section, group section.
"A renewed Albania only requires a renewed DP," Berisha said.
