Prime Minister Edi Rama has toughened his tone towards protesters, after several days of rallies and clashes in Tirana.
During a meeting with the State Police, where Interior Minister Ervin Demo was also present, Rama said that some of the young people involved in the protests need psychological treatment.
Referring to the use of Molotov cocktails and episodes of violence, the Prime Minister stated that some of the protesters are seeking chaos and disorder.
"They worship Molotov cocktails and chaos and rush to the shops. This group needs a psychologist and to be treated by society as a human group of girls and boys who come from the suburbs to destroy the center and have great misunderstandings," said Rama.
The Prime Minister also raised the claim that the protesters are being used by foreign services and actors who, according to him, aim to destabilize Albania. Rama mentioned Russia, stating that Moscow has no interest in a stable Albania, with a developed economy and integrated into the European Union.
