The arrest of Ergys Agas/Lubonja: He was simply a coordinator, Rama is the

Writer and publicist Fatos Lubonja has commented on Agas's arrest, expressing doubts about the timing and circumstances in which the police action was carried out.

According to him, the arrest raises questions about how the rule of law functions in Albania and whether clashes or changes within police structures are hidden behind this development.

"I viewed Agas's arrest with skepticism. In the sense that it raises questions: why was he on the run until now, why was he arrested now? Couldn't they locate him or has something changed? What has changed?" Lubonja said on News 24.

The analyst also brought to attention allegations that after the changes in the police leadership, there may have been a purge of structures from people connected to Agas.

"Some say that a new police chief has come in who has purged the police of Agas' people. It also serves as a kind of pacifier for public opinion, while nothing major is being done. Was it done by agreement or not, or is there a fight within the factions there? We are in a country where we do not believe in the rule of law," he declared.

Lubonja further focused on the role that, according to him, Agasi had in a broader scheme, describing him as a coordinator between organized crime and power structures, while, according to him, the mastermind is Edi Rama himself.

"Agas is not alone there, he got involved in that game and he could not have become what he became without the system that Rama has set up, because he is considered the coordinator between organized crime and Rama. This coordinator is. Yes, Rama is the godfather," said Lubonja.

The analyst also raised questions about how Agasi has obtained tenders and other allegations that have been made public, demanding that justice institutions clarify whether concrete evidence exists.

"Is there any evidence for this? How did Agasi get these tenders, are those bottles of wine worth 33 thousand euros real?" he said.

Lubonja also criticized the way in which the justice reform has been implemented, linking the situation to suspicions of corruption, construction permits and money laundering.

According to him, justice institutions must also provide answers to other much-discussed issues, including the "Aruba File" and allegations of involvement of individuals close to the government.

"There is money laundering, there is the Aruba file, there is talk that there are government people. Will SPAK ever tell us whether there were government people there or not?", Fatos Lubonja concluded. /BW

How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.

Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.
