Renowned actor Çun Lajçi has reacted through a post on social media regarding the protests of students and teachers in Tirana, as well as Prime Minister Edi Rama's invitation for dialogue.
Lajçi says that citizens no longer love the prime minister and that their demand is not dialogue, but his resignation. The actor criticizes Rama for the way he addressed the protesters, accusing him of staging a red chair theater instead of directly confronting the students and teachers.
Lajçi states that the prime minister is with Belinda Balluku, Ergys Agas and the head of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, emphasizing that Rama has not distanced himself from them.
He emphasizes that the dissatisfaction with the government is not limited to young people, but also includes their parents, artists, poets and writers. At the end of his reaction, from Pristina, the actor emphasizes that Albania can move forward even without Edi Rama at the head of the government.
Çun Lajçi's post
Do you see it?
They don't hate you, maybe that much, but they don't love you!
Do you understand?
They want to run away from you and you want to run away from them!
How simple; – the burden cannot bear the burden anymore!
I don't "hate" you either, that's why I keep writing, but you don't believe me and I can't help you, because you're talking to a chair!
You ask for dialogue after 13 years, and they ask for your resignation!
Both sides are late.
I should have opened my eyes back then, when the big theft began and when the drug lords sought power!
Today you sought dialogue with the red chairs, with yourself.
You remembered that the TikTok generation doesn't know how to string seven words together.
Did you remember that even I, who have been talking to theater chairs for 50 years, didn't understand the chair game?
What theater was this?
Brecht or Stanislavski?
Make a play with the park workers!
Make a scene with the burning kiosk!
You made a play with the stone, drinking coffee in the lonely office.
And now, today you had the courage to show up in front of the steps of the Prime Minister's Office and speak to the red chairs, but not to the professors and students who broke the chairs and your abstract theater play!
The actors are missing, Prime Minister!
You weren't good enough to play all the roles, be the director and cameraman, and even applaud for yourself!
The students came peacefully. Why didn't you have the courage to wait for them to sit down, when you're so sure of the votes you got and the ones you claim to get next year?!
The good, the wise, the honest, the patriot, the loyal to Albania, is not afraid of confronting the people.
Why don't you wait for the teachers?
Are they also agents, like these masked teenagers burning the garbage of Tirana?
Maybe we don't hate you as much as you think, Prime Minister, but we don't love you anymore!
Because you never separated the slag from the sugar, nor Belinda from yourself, nor Agas from Vlora, nor drug dealers from power.
This is why the youth don't love you, Mr. Prime Minister!
That's why your parents don't love you either.
That's why we, artists, poets and writers, don't love you either, because even when we are silent sometimes, it doesn't mean we love you. Even in silence, we don't love you!
You started well with Europe, but you ruined it with your blood relations with Vučić and drug lords. And now students, high school students, and citizens who barely make it two meals a day are asking you to leave.
Don't worry about Albania!
There is someone who is leading it forward.
Even Marjana Koçeku can take it to the European Union. Even Marin Mema, even Elisa Spiropali... Egla Ceno, she can, why not, she's an artist!
Albania will not die without you, Prime Minister, because there are boys and girls who love their homeland more than themselves and who do not mix roots with evil plants!
I'm sorry KM, but they don't want you anymore!
