The Chairman of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, has met a protester injured in the head, who reports that he was hit by a stone thrown by the police during protests in downtown Tirana.
The protester, who received several stitches on his forehead as a result of the wound, confessed that the incident occurred near the "Toptani" shopping center, while he was trying to avoid stones that, according to him, were being thrown by police forces.
"We were protesting near "Toptan". I saw a wave of stones coming. I also ran back a little, turned around to see where the stones were coming from, and a stone fell on my forehead (from the police).
"Other protesters dragged me 100 meters until I left that area and then they threw water on me and I came to my senses a little. They held me again because the police were coming and they pulled me, they held me in their arms, hiding me from the police so that the police wouldn't catch me," the injured man testified.
After the protester's testimony, Shehaj directly accused the police and Prime Minister Edi Rama of the violence against them. He stated that the security forces are using violence and terror to intimidate citizens and stop the protests against the government.
According to Shehaj, the violence was not limited to the protests, but continued even after they ended, in police vehicles and police stations. According to the head of Mundësia, Rama should resign as soon as possible.
"Only Edi Rama's police can protect Edi Rama by throwing stones at protesters. By not making any distinction between peaceful protesters and protesters who may have used violence. Because they don't care. They simply want to quell the protest. They threw stones at them. They followed them after the protest was over and without any facts they raped them, they raped them in police cars, they raped them in police stations. They want to terrorize them, they want them to stop the protest, this is the goal, because Edi Rama will stay in power. But this is not going to happen. He must resign as soon as possible!" - declared Shehaj.
Despite the injury, the young protester called on citizens not to withdraw from the protests, emphasizing that the right to protest belongs to everyone, without distinction.
"I call on all compatriots, without distinction, to come and protest as much as possible. It is the right of every person to protest!" - the protester injured by the police finally declared.
