Maliq Municipal Council against unification with Korça, 21 members vote

The Municipal Council of Maliq has opposed the proposal for the merger of this municipality with the Municipality of Korça, within the process of reviewing the administrative-territorial division of the country. During the next meeting, the municipal councilors reviewed the proposal for the merger of the Municipality of Maliq with the Municipality of Korça, while the official opinion of the council is expected to be forwarded to the Parliament of Albania.

After discussions, the Municipal Council voted against the merger with Korça. Out of a total of 22 votes, 21 councilors voted against the proposal, while only one vote was in favor. With this decision, the Municipal Council of Maliq has determined the official position of the institution regarding possible changes in the administrative-territorial division.
