The country's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has warned of new measures against those involved in acts of violence and property damage during the protests in Tirana. During a meeting with the banking sector, the Prime Minister said that families of minors who commit such acts could face financial consequences and restrictions on receiving state services.
But the Prime Minister's warnings did not stop there. He also spoke about restricting access to airports, trains, hotels and other means of transport for people involved in acts of violence. In this regard, he said that the government has begun cooperation with European countries to prevent the entry into these countries of people identified as violent.
Edi Rama: Everyone who has a minor child must take care of themselves. The family will be charged a fee, the family of a minor who burns another's property will not receive any services from the state. We will place violent people in special registers. We will close many accesses. We will cooperate and have started working with EU countries to ban access to those countries as violent people. Violence has no place and will have no place in this country. Dialogue, exchange of ideas, democratic confrontation of arguments, sitting at the table to find new ways.
Before being teachers, they are flag bearers of a party, and they do not distance themselves from violence. Since the 2018 protest, we have addressed many problems. Every ministry is working, what is the next step when this hysteria gives way to logic and confrontation. If there is a competition to be critical of the government, I am ready to enter the competition and win it. But I have nothing to share with the media critics who incite violence. In Italy, there is a name for those who incite violence, petty vandals, while here they are the heroes of the pseudo-student movement.
