About 3 months after Elon Musk promised that his artificial intelligence program "Grok Imagine" would create a feature-length film produced entirely by AI, based on Homer's "Odyssey".
The film may not be ready (yet), but on Friday, the company posted the first 7-minute episode of the AI-powered series “Odyssey” to X. The post also mentions Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker, who are active in the field of AI filmmaking, as contributing to the creative collaboration.

In July, Musk announced plans to create a historically accurate film based on Homer's ancient Greek epic. He said the "Odyssey," which will be created using artificial intelligence, will be ready by the end of 2026.
In a post on X, he wrote: “Before the year is out, Grok Imagine will make a feature-length film about the Odyssey, which will be historically accurate and faithful to Homer’s art.”

He also posted a link to a 3-minute clip, made up of footage he claimed was created with Grok Imagine, depicting a scene between Odysseus and the nymph Calypso.
At the time, the director of the films "Doctor Strange" and "The Black Phone", Scott Derrickson, had reached out to Musk via social media, commenting on the project.
"Apparently, Elon Musk knows nothing about cinema and stopped reading in his 20s," he wrote on the X platform. "His views on art are worthless," he added.
The release came after Musk's repeated criticism of Christopher Nolan's film "Odyssey," even before its release, with particular reference to the casting of Elliot Page for the role of Sinon and Lupita Nyong'o for the role of Helen of Troy.
Musk said Nolan chose the two actresses to meet the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' criteria for representation and inclusion in the Oscar category. In March, he wrote that "Chris Nolan is racist against white people," adding that he chose Nyong'o only because "he wants the awards." ©LAPSI.al
