Elon Musk's artificial intelligence tool, Grok Imagine, has released a seven-minute episode of "The Odyssey," made entirely with artificial intelligence, months after the tech billionaire promised to produce a feature-length film based on Homer's epic poem by the end of 2026.
The episode was released on Friday on X, the social media platform owned by Musk. The post praised the creative collaboration with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker, who specialize in producing films with artificial intelligence.
Musk announced the project in July, promising a full-length, historically accurate cinematic adaptation of the ancient Greek poem before the end of the year.
"Before this year is out, Grok Imagine will produce a feature-length film of 'The Odyssey,' historically accurate and faithful to Homer's work," Musk wrote at the time on X.
He also criticized Christopher Nolan's film adaptation of "The Odyssey," which was a huge box office success, for including non-white and transgender actors in the cast.
Neither Musk nor Grok Imagine released any other statements to accompany the new episode.
