Student protest in front of the Parliament, increased security measures and metal barriers On the tenth day of the student protest, young people have announced another rally, this time in front of the Parliament, at a time when a plenary session is expected to take place inside the institution.
In anticipation of the protest, the Police have taken increased security measures, surrounding the perimeter of the Parliament with metal barriers, from the area near the Namazgja Mosque to the entrance of the institution. Numerous police vehicles and an increased number of officers have been observed in the area, while a fire truck has also been seen entering the courtyard of the Parliament.
Today's protest follows the rallies held for ten days by students, who were also joined by professors, in protest of the issues raised by them.
Meanwhile, today's plenary session is expected to discuss seven draft laws and hold an interpellation with the Minister of Interior, Ervin Demo. The interpellation is related to the student protests and concerns raised about cases of police violence against protesters.
