A serious road accident was recorded during the early hours of Thursday morning on the Fier-Lushnjë highway, near the Kolonjë roundabout. A married couple was injured. It is learned that an off-road vehicle left the road, crashed into the metal barriers and overcame them, ending up in a canal about five meters below the bridge.
The immediate intervention of the Lushnja fire brigade and ambulance medical personnel was required to extract the two spouses from the vehicle. The two injured were urgently transported to the Lushnja hospital, where they are receiving medical assistance for their injuries. According to preliminary data from the Traffic Police, it is suspected that the high speed and the high humidity on the asphalt, as a result of the intense rainfall, caused the driver of the vehicle to lose control and fail to enter the roundabout.
