"Arrest him, but don't shoot him in the head" Protesters' parents denounce police violence

Parents of students detained during protests in Tirana denounce police violence and arrests they consider unjust. Amidst anxiety for the fate of their children and disappointment with institutions, they recount economic difficulties, lack of prospects and the fear that the young people who took to the streets to seek a better future in Albania will end up leaving it.

Teacher accuses government of theft: I'm 40 years old... I've done

Students and teachers have already gathered in the 10th student protest in front of the Parliament, while one of the participating teachers gave a strong speech to the police officers, calling on them to reflect and not stand in the way of students demanding change.

He criticized the political situation in the country and accused the government of theft, while emphasizing that the protest is not for personal interests, but for the future of all citizens.

The professor also raised concerns about economic inequality, referring to the wealth of those connected to power and the economic difficulties that, according to him, citizens face.

"He can't take it anymore, he's gone. But you will be ashamed, on the side of history's shame. We don't do anything to him, we don't deal with him, but the time has come to change our lives. All together, we are fighting for you too. I have no problem, my children are at their jobs. But it doesn't work like this anymore, they are stealing from us, friends. Enough. That Bela has millions, you and others don't have bread at home. What are you doing, where do you find this hatred, friends? I have 40 years... I have done half of yours with a diploma", said one of the lecturers to the police officers.

How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.

Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.
