Clashes between protesters and police have moved to Skanderbeg Square, where a large number of fireworks were thrown at the officers. The police have again used tear gas to disperse the crowd, but the protesters have continued to remain in the area and throw pyrotechnic devices.
During the tensions, some officers were seen armed with wooden sticks, while the situation in the square remained tense. Later, some of the protesters moved towards the headquarters of the Socialist Party, where fireworks were again thrown towards the building.
Police forces have been positioned near the SP headquarters, while other cordons continue to stand along the “Martyrs of the Nation” boulevard. The tensions come after several hours of clashes in various areas of Tirana, where Molotov cocktails, pyrotechnic devices and tear gas were used during the day.
