Monday's news edition on Radio Television Vojvodina (RTV) at 5:00 PM began with an apology to viewers.

After some footage of the celebration of the election results and the celebration of the citizens of Novi Sad was broadcast, the presenter said he had to apologize.

"The public broadcaster did not perform its function for many years. It was silent, turned a blind eye, informed in a biased manner, reported without criticism, did not ask the right questions or did not ask questions at all. And for this, we owe the viewers an apology," the presenter read.

He added that a portion of RTV employees led the fight for that company's journalists and editors to work freely and in accordance with ethical principles.

"Unfortunately, we did not win the battle in time, but we believe it is important to wage that fight," the presenter read.

Because of everything, he added, at the request of a part of the employees and the general director Goran Karadzic, the acting director of the first program of the Provincial Public Television, Nenad Čačič, resigned. ©LAPSI.al
