Erjon Vishkulli, the 28-year-old who was seriously injured in the eye by a rubber bullet during the student protest in Tirana, has reacted from Italy, where he arrived for specialized medical treatment.
Through a message published after arriving at a hospital in Rome, the young man announced that he will undergo another surgical intervention, expressing hope that he will be able to save his eyesight.
"I have just arrived at the 'Sancarlo' hospital in Rome, where I will be admitted for one of the next operations! May God perform miracles! ALBANIA OF ALBANIANS", writes Vishkulli.

His message comes a day after being injured during the October 24 protest in the capital, where he was hit in the left eye by a rubber bullet.
The young man's condition has caused numerous reactions, while during today's protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, students and citizens expressed solidarity with him through banners, T-shirts with the inscription "We are all Erjon Vishkulli" and symbolic eye patches.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old's family has clarified that his transfer to Italy was made possible by their family, friends and supporters, refuting claims that the transfer was organized by the state.
Vishkull's sister has called on the media not to use the occasion for political propaganda, while expressing hope that her brother will return home safe and sound.
