He didn't leave on his own, Rama orders the directors to resign

The students are demanding and expecting his resignation, but Rama has made another move. It is learned that today he has asked the ministers to gather all their subordinate directors and demand their resignation from office.

It is not just about general directors, but also regional directors in the regions. There will certainly be directors who will escape this wave of dismissals, as has happened in the past. The directorocracy was established in the system during Edi Rama's rule.

Today you have people who have been directors for 13 years, as if they are outstanding talents in management and service to citizens. Their only merit is that they steal through tenders to buy votes and then after the votes they have bought, they continue to steal while maintaining the positions to which they were promoted.

Beyond any move Rama may make, no move can save his political fate. Edi Rama has done his job, even if he can temporarily suppress the youth protest with violence. The anger, rage and dissatisfaction with him will not be extinguished by a few directorial moves. Even he himself knows this. ©LAPSI.al

"Arrest him, but don't shoot him in the head" Protesters' parents denounce police violence

Parents of students detained during protests in Tirana denounce police violence and arrests they consider unjust. Amidst anxiety for the fate of their children and disappointment with institutions, they recount economic difficulties, lack of prospects and the fear that the young people who took to the streets to seek a better future in Albania will end up leaving it.

How Rama is leading the country towards civil strife

Insisting on violence, on arming civilians, on paying police officers as if they were mercenaries, alone does not produce peace. Edi Rama's fear of where he will end up when he is no longer prime minister does not have to become Albania's nightmare.

Andi Bushati: Why stones and Molotov cocktails became inevitable

This youth revolt has had a great merit. It made known to the general public the most criminal side of this regime that had until now been preserved in the most secretive recesses. If the extremely peaceful revolution of the flamingos showed us that this government was no longer popular, its radical epilogue, with stones and Molotov cocktails, is serving to bring to light that the autocrat is capable of using any means to stay in power.
