22 vehicles and goods with a customs value of over 200 thousand euros have been seized during operations in northern Kosovo, as part of a months-long investigation.
The suspicions are that they are smuggled goods from Serbia, while Kosovo authorities are investigating ten people.
The Mitrovica Prosecution Office has announced that the actions were carried out in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, Customs and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency.
According to the Prosecution, the investigations began in April of this year.
During the investigations, illegal routes through which goods were allegedly imported from Serbia were identified, as well as the facilities where they were unloaded, stored and then distributed to the market.
The vehicles used for this activity, in most cases, were modified for smuggling, without a back seat. According to the report, when the driver noticed the presence of police officers, they abandoned the vehicles and drove away.
