Fire in Mallakastër endangers homes

A large fire engulfed the village of Greshicë in Mallakastra this afternoon, endangering several homes located near the fire.

Thanks to the rapid intervention of the Mallakastra fire department, the flames were brought under control and completely extinguished within about an hour, preventing the fire from spreading to residential areas.

The fire reportedly damaged about 30 olive trees, several areas of vineyards, and a feed base used for livestock.

Authorities are continuing verifications to determine the causes of the fire and to assess the damage caused.
