Harry Kane won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, beating Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal. The Bayern Munich striker celebrated his success in his home city of London, where he hosted a party with friends and family after the awards ceremony. The England captain celebrated at a private party at Cirque Le Soir, an exclusive circus-themed nightclub in Soho, on Ganton Street, not far from where the ceremony took place. It is one of London's most exclusive venues, which hosted a party that lasted until the early hours of the morning. Kane was careful and professional, consuming alcohol in moderation, before returning to Germany for training with Bayern Munich.
However, during the celebrations at the London bar, several videos posted on social media caused concern. They showed seven or eight large bottles of Ace of Spades champagne, worth around $2,300 each, decorated with festive flares and carried through the crowd. The images brought back memories of the Crans-Montana tragedy in Switzerland, where 40 people died on New Year's Eve, including six young Italians. In that case, the flares came into contact with acoustic foam on the ceiling, causing a fire. For this reason, similar images at another nightclub have reopened the public debate on safety in these environments.
Harry Kane went straight to the club to celebrate his Ballon d'Or win... see the bottles they brought out for him 😂🔥 https://t.co/qGCMseCXNB

The official website of Cirque Le Soir shows the frequent use of flares, which in many cases come very close to the ceiling. However, in the published images, it does not appear that the ceiling is covered with acoustic panels similar to those of the bar in Crans-Montana. Perhaps for this reason, some people who commented on the videos on social networks emphasized that everything seemed to have taken place in safe conditions. However, the images brought back to the collective memory the tragedy of Crans-Montana, which remains impossible to forget. “We are sorry, but this is exactly how that tragedy in Crans-Montana began. Why do they still allow this s*t?” wrote one user on social networks.
The English striker, however, continued to maintain his professional profile, balancing celebration with discipline. He did not want to risk such an important day or damage his image, so he immediately focused on Bayern Munich and the German team's upcoming challenges: the next day in the German Cup against Magdeburg, Saturday in the league against Borussia Dortmund and three days later in the difficult Champions League transfer in Madrid, against Diego Simeone's Atlético Madrid.
