A 20-year-old Albanian worker lost his life this morning in a work accident in Valtopina in Trevi, Italy. The young man, identified by Italian media as Rogert Ajdini, was working with others on a road paving project when he was allegedly hit by the rock crusher he was driving.
According to initial reports, the vehicle had suddenly overturned. Colleagues immediately called for help, but the injuries suffered by the 20-year-old proved to be very serious and all attempts to intervene were in vain.
Italian media reports that the accident occurred on a road that starts from the sports facilities area and climbs towards the surrounding hills. The municipality of Valtopina had decided to intervene to improve the road surface, which is still largely unpaved.
The work had been entrusted to a specialized company. The young man was on site with other people working on the asphalt when, for reasons still unclear, the overturning occurred.

Emergency medical personnel and firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident. The Nibbio air rescue helicopter, which took off from Foligno, was also activated. Despite the arrival of emergency teams, there was nothing that could be done for the 20-year-old.
On behalf of the entire community, the mayor of Valtopina expressed his condolences to the young man's family. The relatives were immediately notified. ©LAPSI.al
